HOW TO DECORATE A SMALL BEDROOM – Small Bedroom Room Décor Ideas
THREE SIMPLE TIPS FOR DECORATING A SMALL BEDROOM:
A cozy bedroom is not only about size but also about being organized. Keeping it neat and tidy and only using essential elements and furniture is a good first step in small bedroom décor.
Since, the bed is the most essential element in your room, and it usually takes up the most space, first decide on the bed placement. One you identify where to put the bed, then you can add in other furniture and items, like dressers, tables, rugs and wall art.
1. FUNCTION FIRST:
Since you have limited space, choose only needed items for your room. Bed, lamps, tables, dresser, rug, throws, wall hangings are all necessary. Several candles, lots of picture frames on dresser, multiple pillows, plants…these are all things that can be pared down and kept to a minimum.
2. GET RID OF CLUTTER:
Use a minimalist approach in a small room. For example, one large plant in a corner versus three or four small plants; one large painting on the wall vs. multiple smaller paintings or prints; one or two throws on the bed versus multiple. Get rid of anything you really don’t need.
3. USE A PHOTO TO EXPERIMENT:
One of the best ways to know if your room looks cluttered or over-decorated, is to take a photo of the room when finished. You can then more easily spot where there are too many items or similarly, where the room looks bare. Stand at two or three areas and take a picture and then review them.
